Participation in a meeting organized by Spirit in Action on April 28 with subsidized partners
On Tuesday April 23, 8 grant partners SIA Burundi, Flaming Chalice Burundi, CESAPH, BBJ, Tubunganire, APDEI, CFR Giheta, CSF and CCDI met in Bujumbura with Mwibutsa, the member of the African advisory council.
The purpose of the meeting was for the granting partners to get to know each other through conversations and exercises of various types. It was also an opportunity to hear wonderful stories of lives and communities touched by the work of different partners.
Each granting partner organization had the opportunity to present their work and its impact on communities. It was gratifying to see that the work done by various partners complemented each other.
All participants agreed that there is so much expertise within the SIA Burundi family and leaders will use these resources as needed. There was good chemistry among all participants and they have ideas on how to move forward in their collective community transformation work
After a full day of joyful work and celebration of what was accomplished, the participants returned home with a commitment to continue working together.
A final note to celebrate was the participation of two women from rural Ryansoro and their contribution to the conversation. The gathering was held entirely in the local language, Kirundi to remove barriers to participation.
